Eva Kinyua

Gender Safeguards and Leadership Manager.

Eva Kinyua is a seasoned professional dedicated to advancing gender equality and institutional safeguarding within the conservation and community development sectors. As the Gender, Safeguards and Leadership Manager at The Maa Trust, she spearheads the design and implementation of gender-transformative programs that ensure accountability and sustainability.

Her expertise lies in providing strategic technical leadership, developing robust policies, and building the capacity of organizations to create safer, more equitable environments. Driven by a commitment to evidence-based practice, Eva's work is informed by extensive research. She has led impactful studies that address critical social issues, including gender-based violence, sextortion in socio-economic and academic settings, and the unique challenges faced by women in attaining environmental justice.

These insights are critical to her work in strengthening safeguarding and fostering gender-transformative change. Eva holds a First-Class Honours degree and is pursuing her Master's in Gender, Women, and Development Studies from Egerton University and the University of Nairobi, respectively.
