The Maa House is a privately owned 4 bedroom guest house nestled between the Naboisho and Olare Motorogi Conservancies. Surrounded by the passing wildebeest, sweeping swifts and views of the open plains, it makes for an authentic and at home experience in the bush.
The house sleeps 7 people comfortably - three double rooms, which can be split into single beds for sharing, and one three quarter bedroom. All rooms are en-suite. The house is run by a housekeeper and a chef. All your meals and housekeeping is taken care of, all you have to do is sit back, relax and enjoy the Mara.
The Maa House welcomes guests wanting to have a getaway experience in the Mara and learn about the work of The Maa Trust. The house is situated next to the new The Maa Trust headquarters.

What You Need to Know

The nearest airstrip is Olare Orok - airport transfers are free of charge.

All meals are prepared by our chef, all you have to do is enjoy. If you have any specific dietry requirements please let us know before your stay.

Drinking water is provided in your rooms - please do not drink the water out of the taps.

Housekeeping is available, should you need any laundry done please let us know. Everything is hand washed.

Each bedroom has a mosquito net and bug spray to make your sleep as peaceful and bite free as possible.

The house is run on solar power, but we have a back up generator should you need to blow dry your hair.

We have flushing toilets and hot water showers.

We understand the need to stay connected and therefore have wifi.

We are situated on privately owned land within an electric fence, therefore, it is safe to walk around the property.

Sundowners are a must in the bush - enjoy a refreshing drink on our lookout pad in the evenings, followed by a camp fire beneath a starry sky.

Various wildlife and birdlife can be seen from the pad that overlooks the Olare Motorogi Conservancy.

We have bird books and a pair of binoculars on hand for those who wish to get to know a few of our flying friends.

We are not allowed to take guests into the conservancy, but don't worry, we got you covered - game drives can be arranged in the reserve.

The Maa Trust offers guests the chance to support the livelihoods of the local Maasai women who are part of the successful enterprise, Maa Beadwork. Visits up to the Trust are included and highly recommended.

If you are coming on business and have meetings offsite we can provide you with packed lunches.
What is Excluded

All alcoholic beverages are charged separately end the end of your stay. We have house wines, tusker beers, and gin & tonics available. If you prefer something else, please let us know in advance.

We are not a travel agency and therefore do not offer Safari trips / packages. However, we are able to assist in booking a few activities.

Hot air balloon safaris are one of the best ways to see the Mara. These are booked directly through the respective companies - the cost is between $450-$500 per person for a 2-3 hour ride with breakfast upon landing.

Game watch on horseback with Kilima Camp. Please let us know if this is something you would like and we can request it.

Game drives in the Maasai Mara National Reserve can be arranged on request. These are charged separately and are not in affiliation with The Maa House.
