Nice Nayianoi Mutunkei

Nice Nayianoi Mutunkei is a Community Development and Environment professional specialising in gender equality, safeguarding, child protection and inclusive community development. As the Gender Safeguards and Leadership Coordinator at The Maa Trust, she supports the design, coordination, implementation, monitoring and reporting of gender-transformative programmes, including Women in Leadership, Women in Conservation, male engagement and safeguarding initiatives. Her expertise includes gender mainstreaming, safeguarding risk management, child protection, capacity strengthening, stakeholder engagement, community mobilisation, programme coordination, monitoring and reporting, and evidence-based documentation. Drawing on her experience in social work and community-based programming, she is committed to strengthening safe, inclusive and equitable communities through participatory and rights-based approaches. She holds a Bachelor of Community Development and Environment from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology and is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Gender and Development Studies at the University of Nairobi.
