Samson Mereru

WASH Assitant

Samson is the WASH Assistant at The Maa Trust, where he assists in the implementation of Water Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) initiatives in the Maasai Mara. His duties encompass planning, coordinating, implementing, and reporting on various WASH activities. These activities range from providing capacity-building training to implementing water infrastructure projects and community-led sanitation programs. His work ensures communities adopt good sanitation practices and supports the construction and use of toilets, alongside efforts to achieve open defecation-free (ODF) status.

Before his current role, Sam contributed to The Maa Trust as a youth peer mentor and career trainer for two years. Following this, he took on the position of a WASH reliever from July to December 2023 and was promoted to WASH Assistant in January 2024. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Community Development from Chuka University, which he completed in 2022.
