The Maa Trust Appoints Simon Kipila as Chief Operating Officer

The Maa Trust is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Simon Kipila as our new Chief Operating Officer (COO), effective 5 January 2026.

Simon brings extensive experience in community-led development and a deep understanding of The Maa Trust’s mission and operating context. He previously served as the Trust’s Chief Programmes Officer (CPO), where he provided strategic leadership in expanding programme reach, strengthening partnerships, and delivering measurable impact across our initiatives.

Simon succeeds Dr. Anthony Mburu and will now lead the Trust’s day-to-day operations, driving organisational performance with a strong focus on building robust systems, strengthening accountability, and ensuring effective programme delivery as the organisation continues to grow.

Mr. Simon Kipila

He holds a Bachelor of Science in Statistics from Egerton University and is currently pursuing a Master of Development Practice at Regis University in Denver, USA. His leadership will play a pivotal role in enhancing operational efficiency, elevating programme quality, and deepening engagement with donors and partners.

We are confident that his leadership will further strengthen our ability to deliver sustainable, community-driven impact in the Maasai Mara ecosystem.
